Family Support
There are a variety of reasons why parents may have a substance use disorder. When we think of trauma, we often think of physical trauma. However, trauma can come in many forms. Such as an individual who has a family history of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, mental abuse, domestic violence, depression, or other mental illness. Trauma can also happen in utero (before birth). It can happen to any of us, at any time. That’s why we must focus on building healthy communities together and providing opportunities for prenatal and recovery care.
